Youmeal has just recategorized the food information of 5,000 products for a major supplier. As a result of this project, 70% of the products required a modification to their nutritional declaration! For some products, it was only the matter of a small detail, but in 12% of cases, there was an allergen-related error or inaccuracy.
The project shows that algorithms, together with human intervention when necessary, can help the process run 5 times faster than before. And that could improve as the algorithms continue to learn.
